An early career consultancy

What Now?

Colleges teach many things: independence, critical thinking, technical skills. But they rarely teach students what to do with those things once they’ve graduated.

After all their schoolwork, students often find themselves asking… what now?

Breaking into a chosen field – even getting an interview – can feel completely overwhelming, especially in today’s fiercely competitive job market. And that assumes a student even knows what they want to pursue. Parents want to help, but often don’t know where to begin.

But with What Now?, there is a way forward.

Ideally, students would launch their career journeys with me as early as freshman year. Without the pressure to find a job, I’d help them explore, laying the groundwork for future opportunities. They’ll learn how to leverage their networks, create tailored resumes and cover letters, and search for and apply to internships. Starting early gives students more chances to test out different paths, and build valuable experience.

But it’s never too late. Whether you’re a sophomore seeking your first internship, a senior heading toward the job market, a recent graduate launching your career, or an early professional realizing your first role isn’t the right fit, I can show you strategies to stand out and get ahead.

Every stage brings unique opportunities, and with the right guidance, students and young professionals can stop worrying about what now, and start getting excited about what’s next.

How I Work

My approach is holistic and highly personalized. Every client receives a tailored roadmap, flexible ongoing support, and candid, expert guidance. We work together to build tools and confidence. I help clients identify the right opportunities, apply with maximum impact, and present their strongest, most authentic selves throughout the process.

Why Work With Me

I’m a graduate of both Wharton and Kellogg, and have spent over two decades working as a management consultant, strategy executive, and executive recruiter. As someone who has coached and interview-prepped everyone from students to CEOs, and reviewed thousands of résumés and LinkedIn profiles, I know what makes a candidate stand out.

When I lived this career journey firsthand with my own three children, I saw an opportunity to channel my years of experience and insider knowledge into something more personal and impactful. What Now? is an early career consultancy, designed to help young professionals navigate the complex transition from campus to career. I blend professional expertise with personal perspective, to help young adults take clear, confident, and strategic next steps.

Proven Results

What Now clients have received offers from companies including:

+ multiple startup companies

“Jennifer, I genuinely cannot thank you enough. This hasn’t hit me yet. It’s over! All of the chaos has been 100% worth it. Thank you for believing in me and guiding me through every step of the way. You have seen the ups and downs, and I don’t know how I would’ve done this without you.”

Sophomore, Duke University, Incoming Analyst at Goldman Sachs

“Jen, I just spoke [my daughter] and she could not be happier to be working with you. She rarely asks for help so I am sort of shocked at how receptive she is to your guidance. Thank you so, so much…”

Parent of Cornell Student

“We can’t thank you enough! Your help in preparing our daughter for her interviews was invaluable. You gave her the tools and confidence to walk in the room prepared. Like so young people, the focus has always been on academics, and rarely on the working world. Your guidance, insight, and expertise into this next step in adulthood was a game changer!”

Parent of UC Berkeley Student

“In school, my kids learned complex math and science and honed all sorts of literary skills… but they never learned to create a resume or how to manage an interview!

As a Gen Z parents, our skills are way out dated, and we have zero experience in our kids’ chosen fields.

Jen, you brought not only your expertise as a consultant and head hunter to the process, but also your experience as a parent of kids the same age. As my son said, you “get it.”

You understand hiring from the inside and what businesses look for. You know how to talk to kids, how to build their confidence (or inject some necessary humility!) and how to bring out the best in them. That balance is not easy to strike!

My kids loved talking to you and valued your input (way more than that of their own parents!) They found your sessions super productive and advice easy to implement.

Thank you so much for guiding them through this next phase.”

Parent of Harvard student

“Jen, you’re a godsend.  My son was completely paralyzed by the idea of applying for internships as a college sophomore, and fought with me whenever I tried to help him. But Jen swooped in and worked her magic, and suddenly he was networking and sending out resumes and making things happen. The service she provides is genius, but Jen takes it to a whole other level. You know how there are just those people who are so smart and savvy, and intuitively know how to work any situation? Imagine having THAT person in your kid’s corner when they’re trying to get a job. My son trusts her 1000%, and whenever he has a question or doesn’t know quite how to handle something job- related, we always say the same thing: Ask Jen!””

Parent of Tulane student

“I had no idea where to even start. It was honestly super overwhelming. But you talked me through everything step by step and actually made it all doable. Thank you thank you thank you!!””

Recent graduate, University of Pennsylvania, offers from Microsoft and Meta
